Understanding Cyclic Caching and Page Cache on Solaris 8 and Above

In Solaris 8 cyclic caching was introduced and caching file system data (page cache) should no longer strain system memory unless there is really a memory shortage. Although there are exceptions to this rule. It is important to understand how this now works so you can understand why you might see large numbers of pages in page cache.
