Goal


This document contains the basic procedure for compiling the mailertable, access database, genericstable, and virtusertable functionalities
(the four most common additions to a general sendmail setup) into sendmail's configuration.

This document also contains examples that show you how to create and test the tables. 

In summary, the procedure in this document involves four basic steps.

  1. Adding the functionality to sendmail (sendmail.mc and sendmail.cf)
  2. Creating the database text files
  3. Compiling the text files into a database file
  4. Testing the file using /usr/lib/sendmail -bt
