Last updated on DECEMBER 06, 2023

Applies to:

Solaris Cluster - Version 3.0 to 4.3 [Release 3.0 to 4.3]
Oracle Solaris on SPARC (64-bit)
Oracle Solaris on x86-64 (64-bit)

Goal

This document describes how to dynamically add storage to a running cluster once it has been configured and made available to all nodes of the cluster.  When adding storage devices to the shared storage configuration of a running cluster there are some additional Solaris Cluster commands that the system administrator must execute in order to update the cluster configuration database, or Cluster Configuration Repository (CCR). These additional commands are presented in this document. This article was written for Solaris Cluster 3.x however the command line options did not change in OSC 4.x. The same concepts apply and the same command line can be used as Sun Cluster 3.2 and Solaris Cluster 3.3.
