How to Collect a Live Solaris Kernel Dump (Doc ID 1004608.1)

Goal

There are situations when it is required to capture a snapshot of the running kernel in order to analyze the state of the system. This is performed with savecore(1M) command with '-L' option. There are several critical notes to be aware of prior to attempting a live Solaris crash dump.
