Tape or Disk Devices Newly Attached to the PCI Dual Ultra3 SCSI Host Adapter are Not Discovered in Solaris
Last updated on FEBRUARY 05, 2018
Applies to:Sun Storage Ultra3 SCSI PCI HBA, 2 Port - Version Not Applicable to Not Applicable [Release N/A]
The Sun StorEdge PCI Dual Ultra3 SCSI Host Adapter Card has been installed into a server, followed by the attachment of a storage (tape or disk) device. The initial verification step of probe-scsi-all is performed. In this example, the HBA sees an attached Sun Storedge 3310 Array. A reconfiguration reboot is performed. However, no storage devices are created in Solaris. Utilities such as devfsadm and drvconfig also fail to make the devices.
Typically, this is a new installation of the HBA into the server, or new storage (tape or disk) has been attached to the HBA.
