Sun Storage 3310 Not Seen When Connected to LVD SCSI-3 HBA (Jasper) (Doc ID 1004867.1)

A new Sun Storage 3310 Array was connected to the LVD SCSI-3 HBA, installed in a V240, and probe-scsi-all did not see the 3310. Nor did any device entries build when boot -r was done. Yet when this same array was connected to the onboard LVD SCSI, the 3310 was visible with a prob-scsi-all and device entries were built.

Reviewing the /var/adm/messages file we find that we were generating error messages when the array was connected to either the onboard LVD or the LVD SCSI-3 (Jasper) HBA.
