Goal
The ability to throttle back the activity of the SAMFS file system, during recovery, is critical to any recovery process.
In most cases, after the problem has been identified and fixed, a SAM-QFS file system needs to recover.
Having too many process running on the server could slow down recovery time. In addition, too many sam-arfind processes running (with limited CPU resources) will prolong the recovery process and could put the archiver in a bad state.
This document will provide one approach, on how to throttle back SAM-FS sam-arfind processes.
