Goal

This Technical Instruction is written for Sun/Solaris Cluster nodes using SDS (Solstice Disksuite) or SVM (Solaris Volume Manager) metasets but is applicable to non Solaris Cluster stand alone Solaris hosts as well. There are some cases where customers want to have control of sync process of metadevices (start and stop).  For example their system can not handle the over head of that process(s) and they may chose to run sync at times when they expect lower system utilization. Currently there are no command line options to do that.
