How To Map Out the Physical Device(s) from an EMC PowerPath Pseudo Device seen in "format" output (Doc ID 1006354.1)

Last updated on OCTOBER 05, 2022

Applies to:

Solaris Operating System - Version 8 6/00 U1 and later
All Platforms

Goal

If a situation occurs where you need to physically map out the underlying devices for an EMC PowerPath Pseudo instance, this document and method can become very useful. Under normal circumstances, an administrator could use the EMC PowerPath commands to obtain this information (ie. the powermt command). Sometimes this output is not always available, especially since Sun[TM] Explorer script does not collect it.
