How to transfer binary files using telnet or rlogin.

The following procedure is useful when there are no other means to transfer a file, for example if there is no ftp, nfs or rcp access to a remote system.

This is not a very efficient method of copying a file, due to the overhead of converting the file and having to display the whole file to the terminal window. Uses may include copying a recordstop dump from an E10k's System Service Processor(SSP), via a dialup connection, or copying an explorer diagnostic output from a remote system, with only telnet access.
