How to Use the pam_debug File (Doc ID 1007720.1)

Last updated on JANUARY 30, 2022

Applies to:

Solaris Operating System - Version 8 6/00 U1 and later
All Platforms

The /etc/pam_debug file can aid in PAM debugging by enabling debug output without a restart of the services or reboot of the system.

Using /etc/pam_debug will enable debugging in the PAM framework and is independent of the used PAM modules. See 1009025.1 for information on how to enable debugging of individual PAM modules rather than debugging via the PAM framework.
