Symptoms

When using the "command line login" mode from dtlogin, or during booting, the scrolling of text on the XVR-100 display can be very slow.

This document describes how to get best performance in the command-line login mode (i.e. not running X windows). For users who usually work in CDE/Gnome, the 24-bit mode is usually preferable.
