Goal

This document describes how to determine if a fiber-channel HBA in a Solaris[TM] Operating System is a Sun branded FC HBA or a Emulex branded FC HBA. This is important for determining supportability of the HBA.
The reference document to use now to identify the brander is

however this document is kept published because it provides an easy and efficient way to identify a non-branded Emulex HBA for former SUN servers
