rpc.ttdbserverd is maxing out the CPU at 100%

(Doc ID 1008716.1)

Last updated on NOVEMBER 27, 2017

Applies to:

Solaris SPARC Operating System - Version 8.0 and later
All Platforms

The rpc.ttdbserverd process increases dramatically whenever someone logs into CDE/Openwindows through the dtlogin screen.

No errors are indicated anywhere. Killing the rpc.ttdbserverd process helps to bring the system back to normal, but the process is restarted again when logging back out and in just because that daemon is necessary for starting the ttsession process.
