Symptoms

You have decided that those old volumes or metadevices are not working out and wish to remove/delete them.

Or maybe you have a SAN device you want to unconfigure.

You issue commands cfgadm, vxedit, vxassist, metaclear, etc., and you get the errors advising the object or objects are in use or open.
