Symptoms
While examining a process's behavior with pstack, pmap, pldd, truss, and other commands (known in this document as a "process monitoring utility"), an error message from the utility indicating that the target process is already being traced may be displayed:
[pstack|pmap|pldd]: cannot examine : process is traced
These process monitoring utility commands are used either to trace the execution of a process or to gain information about internal details of a process.
