How to fix the permissions of a directory covered by a mount point (Doc ID 1011068.1)

Goal

This document describes how to fix the permissions of a file system without un-mounting the file system.

If you mount a file system on a directory with mode 700 users will not be able to access the ".." directory within the root of that file system. The mount point needs to have mode 555 so that this will work.
