How to truncate the wtmpx file (Doc ID 1011507.1)

Goal

Prior to Solaris 11.4, the /var/adm/wtmpx file is very large, and must be truncated correctly.

In Solaris 11.4 and higher, the /var/adm/wtmpx is a symbolic link to /var/share/adm/wtmpx.  Therefore, substitute the /var/share/adm/wtmpx file in the examples below.
