Goal

This document describes setting sys_tick_freq to improve the accuracy of the ntp server.

Choosing a good value for the ntp's drift can improve the accuracy of the clock at system startup time, and alleviates the need for allowing the ntp server to settle on a drift value. Thus the ntp server's drift will be accurate at bootup.

Be aware that the drift of the type of undisciplined crystal oscillators normally found in computer system are fairly temperature sensitive, so the drift will vary with varying temperatures.
