SAM-QFS: What To Do If a Tape (Piece of Media) is Damaged (Doc ID 1012015.1)

All Platforms

The following procedures should be used to rearchive files that were on a tape that has been marked as damaged or is suspected of being damaged.

These procedures will only work if there is at least one good copy still available in disk cache or on a different tape.

If running with SAM-FS version 4.4 or higher, using the sam-recyler(1M) is most likely the best approach in resolving damaged media.
