Solaris Cluster HA-NFS the nfs_postnet_stop Method Can Run into Timeout and STOP_FAILED (Doc ID 1012164.1)

Last updated on APRIL 07, 2022

Applies to:

Solaris Cluster - Version 3.0 and later
Oracle Solaris on SPARC (64-bit)
Oracle Solaris on SPARC (32-bit)
Oracle Solaris on x86-64 (64-bit)

Symptoms

Solaris Cluster HA-NFS (nfs_postnet_stop) do a restart of statd. Therefore it must be able to look up all hosts which are displayed by ifconfig output.

1.) In Case of Sun Cluster with more than one network interface in a IPMP group can cause NFS resource group to become STOP_FAILED or abort node. And when failover mode is set to 'HARD' then the node will panic.

2.) If /usr/lib/nfs/statd is not able to look up all configured hosts (e.g. internal dman (of SF12/15K and E20/25K) or sppp (of Mx000) interface can cause NFS resource group to become STOP_FAILED or abort node
