The CDE login process occasionally hangs just after the CDE wallpaper is displayed, when a user is using ATOK12 (Japanese input method front end) as XIM. When all available file descriptors for the "htt_server -port 9010 -syslog -message_locale C" process are consumed up, this problem occurs.

Remark: a system has multiple htt_server processes. This document is talking about htt_server process which is owned by root and has the "-port 9010" argument.

This problem does not occur when a user is using ATOK8 instead of ATOK12.

You can see how many file descriptors "htt_server -port 9010 ..." process
is using with following command:

 # pfiles
