The network configuring of the Sun Fire [TM] X4100 / X4200 SP (Service Processor) without a default gateway (0.0.0.0) may lead to network and IPMI failures.
Failure modes include:
- 'IPMI' error messages in the ILOM web GUI
- Slowness of the ILOM CLI
- Slowness of the ILOM Java Remote Console KVM functionality
- Failure of legal ILOM CLI commands
- Remote "ipmitool" command failures
Some fields in the ILOM web GUI may also not be populated.
