Goal

What is the time limit for holding data in buffer before writing to tape.
Data Buffer
Time limit
Superblock

If the data flow to the tape unit/buffer from the host is idle or is slower than the transfer rate of data from the buffer to the tape, will the data get written to the tape after a specific time period? Or, will the tape unit not transfer the data from the buffer to the tape until the buffer/superblock is full or a request is made to force the write of the data to the tape.
