Symptoms

The article addresses a problem that can occur while defining or deleting functional devices where a delay of several seconds or minutes may be detected on a host system attached to the Shared Virtual Array (SVA).

Symptoms that may occur
IOS079I message while defining or deleting DIDs
System response time is slow when deleting devices.
System hangs when adding functional devices.
System hung when deleting devices.
System lockout
Host application delay during device delete.
Host application stop.
Host application hang.
JES2 checkpoint hangs during DEFINE or DELETE
Console freezes during delete.
FSCF22D in the SVA log.
FSC3E1D in the SVA log.

IOS079I I/O TIMEOUT INTERVAL HAS BEEN EXCEEDED FOR A QUEUED REQUEST. THE QUEUED REQUEST HAS BEEN TERMINATED.
