This article addresses how to build an MIR with an offline drive.
If during the file by file read attempt, the drive encounters a permanent read error or Servo Off Track error, the MIR will not be repaired, "BldMirFail" will be displayed for 1.28.XXX or lower codes, and CHK XXXX for 1.30.109 and higher codes, when the tape is ejected.
