Problems with Patch 112438-01:

Many customers call in experiencing difficulties with Patch ID: 112438-01, where the actual /dev/random device is not created after installing the patch, and rebooting and reconfiguring their servers. Typically, the problem is due to customers trying to install the patch with pkgadd rather than patchadd . When they do that, the post_install script does not run, and several portions of the patch installation are not completed.

All of the patch appears to be installed, on quick review of the patch documentation:

 /etc/devlink.tab

/etc/minor_perm

/kernel/drv/random

/kernel/drv/random.conf

/kernel/drv/sparcv9/random

/usr/include/sys/random.h

/usr/lib/mdb/kvm/random.so

/usr/lib/mdb/kvm/sparcv9/random.s
