Sun StorageTek[TM] Availability Suite 3.1 Software: Remote Mirror Fails to Enable a Set Due to Bitmap Error

An enable operation (sndradm -e|E) for a set fails with:

WARNING: rdc: nsc_reserve(some_logical_device) failed 22
WARNING: rdc_free_bitmap: Read header failed

Where the value of some_logical_device is the Primary or Secondary device or bitmap defined in the set being enabled. For example the enable command:

sndradm -e PrimaryHost /dev/rdsk/c1t1d1s1 /dev/rdsk/c2t2d2s2 SecondaryHost \
SecondaryHost /dev/rdsk/c3t3d3s3 /dev/rdsk/c4t4d4s4 ip sync

If the error occurs on the primary host, the possible devices are:

/dev/rdsk/c1t1d1s1 Primary Device
/dev/rdsk/c2t2d2s2 Primary Bitmap

If the error occurs on the secondary host, the possible devices are:

/dev/rdsk/c3t3d3s3 Secondary Device
/dev/rdsk/c4t4d4s4 Secondary Bitmap
