Swap file(s) not added at boot, but can be added manually (Doc ID 1017800.1)

Last updated on MAY 29, 2017

Applies to:

Solaris Operating System - Version 8.0 and later
All Platforms

Symptoms

Extra swap space has been created using the following commands:

#mkfile 500m /opt/myswap
#swap -a /opt/myswap

The extra swap space appears when swap -l is executed.

Then the /etc/vfstab file has the following added to it:

	/opt/myswap	-	-	swap	-	no	-

However, when the system is rebooted, the extra swap space does not appear.

Doing "swap -a /opt/myswap" adds it every time.
