Goal

Sun[TM] Management Center (Sun MC) 3.5.1 (a/b) ships with the ESPv2 and ESPv3 addons embedded in the media image. Available on the Sun Download Center is a new addon called ESPv4. ESPv4 is designed specifically for bug fixes and feature improvements on the Sun Fire highend server line (sf12k -- e25k). Some customers have ITIL (IT Infrastructure Library) practices that require them to always install applications in the same exact manner. Some customers will have a strong desire to work with a single product image. This document will explain how to add or merge the ESPv4 web download image into the Sun MC 3.5.1 (a/b) product image in a supported manner.
You do not have to deploy ESPv4 in this fashion. You can still create agent-update images for only ESPv4 or you can issue a es-inst on the target agent/server layer and specify the ESPv4 "image" directory. es-inst is smart enough to upgrade or add new this addon.
