Unable to add a default router entry in Solaris[TM] 9 & 10 gateways file (Doc ID 1018848.1)

Symptoms

With the new version of in.routed in Solaris[TM] 9 02/02 and Solaris [TM] 10 it is not possible to add a default router entry via the /etc/gateways file. The default route(s) added via the /etc/gateways file can deleted from the routing table.
