Goal

There is a need from time to time to make a tape drive unavailable to SAM-FS. This document will assist in accomplishing that.

The System Administrator will make the tape drive unavailable for several reasons:

To test/verify a tape drive or piece of media status
There is a need to verify tape drive order in the tape library
There is a need to use the tape drive for other purposes.

NOTE: A tape drive can not be under SAM-FS control, if the Administrator wants to use the drive for other (Non SAM-FS) reasons.
