Solaris Operating System - Version 8 6/00 U1 to 9 9/05 HW U9 [Release 8.0 to 9.0]
The Platform Information and Control Library(PICL) daemon(picld), is using more CPU time than expected, and known picld bugs have been eliminated.
- The system may be slow to boot.
- Output from the sysdef command shows a huge number of devices which are not physically present on the system
# Basic platform V480
$ sysdef|wc -l
# Problematic platform V480 (from explorer output)
$ wc -l sysconfig/sysdef.out
Alternatively disc array configuration files have been recently edited, reverted or regenerated.
