Goal
The patchadd operation by default creates the backout data for the replaced files and directories replaced. The backout data are placed under /var/sadm. Thus enough space under /var is crucial for successful patch operations.
Purpose/Scope:
This document provides a guide to ensure sufficient filesystem space for patch operations.
Symptoms:
- Insufficient space
- Patchadd is terminating
- Fail to install patch
