Solaris 10: Strange Behaviour of lpstat Command after Installed the Patch 127127-11 (Doc ID 1019674.1)

Symptoms

After the upgrade to Solaris 10 Update 5 (5/08) or later, respectively the installation of the the corresponding patches 127127-11 and 127128-11, the lpstat(1) output has changed. Also /etc/printers.conf now contains a "printer-uri-supported" record for new installed printers.

 

For example, a machine where patch 127127-11 is installed:

The above result clearly shows that the patch 127127-11 is making the command lpstat to behave differently.

 

 

Changes

Upgrade to Solaris 10 Update 5 (5/08) or later, respectively the installation of the the corresponding patches 127127-11 and 127128-11.
