Oracle Solaris on x86 (32-bit)

Goal

This document provides procedures to backup and restore (Disk Set Restore) on a Sun/Solaris Cluster 3.x node with Solaris Volume Manager (SVM).
It also outlines the procedure on removing and recreating svm disksets in a clustered environment.  This is essential when a diskset is in a state that the nodes in the cluster are unable to take ownership and are confused about the state of the diskset.  Additionally, all attempts to clear the confused state fails. This procedure should be used as a last attempt to fix the problem diskset.
