All Platforms

Goal

Solaris 10 Update 5 (5/08) and above includes vnc server for creating Virtual Network Computing (VNC) desktops.
This technical instruction will provide a step by step to configure this on a Solaris 10 Update 5 system.
This will allow a remote system to open a VNC desktop session to a Solaris 10 Update 5 system configured in this manner.

From a VNC desktop session, it is possible to start and run graphical tools such as /usr/sbin/smc, /usr/sadm/admin/bin/printmgr and /usr/sadm/admin/bin/dhcpmgr .
An existing X server session is not required.
