Purpose
Solaris Cluster 3.0 and above resource start failure.
This document describes what to do when a Solaris Cluster resource or resource group fails to start within cluster frame work. It is not specific to any one agent and can be used as generic guide.
Resource type is a cluster term for agent. Resource is an instance of the resource type (agent) in a Solaris Cluster resource group. Resource group contains the resources that can have various dependencies or affinities set. There are also resource properties that alter cluster actions for example Failover_mode or resource group property such as Pingpong_interval. When you try to analyze why an application fails to start in cluster you have to take into account all dependencies, affinities, resource and resource group properties, how the resource group is configured to understand the events and find out what really failed and what events are just consequences of that one failure.
