Rebuilding The MIR On Encrypted Tape Cartridges:
As part of the load process the drive attempts to connect to a KMA and get keys. However, if this fails, the failure is ignored in the REBUILD MIR case as no keys are needed. If the drive is connected to a KMA that has the needed keys for the tape loaded, the rebuild MIR will start very quickly. If the drive is not connected to a KMA it can take 10 minutes or more to begin the rebuild process.
The Engineering Port Task was unable to position to the EOD block on tape. The tape may have a perm read error or the EOD block is missing. Try to copy this tape to another tape. If successful, then
scratch the tape.
