Last updated on APRIL 09, 2021
Applies to:
Solaris Operating System - Version 10 5/08 U5 and laterInformation in this document applies to any platform.
Symptoms
Booting a guest domain from a image file on a zfs dataset will fail if the zpool is full.
When the virtual disk backend (file or volume) is located in the ZFS storage pool and the zvols don't reserve enough space, the following problems occur.
This can be also seen with guest domain boot devices made from image files residing on zfs datasets in primary domain - if zpool fills up or ZFS quota is reached by ZFS dataset which underlies the guest domains virtual boot disk.
When you boot the domain which uses the virtual disk as UFS system disk, the following error messages are output and the domain boot fails.
