Symptoms


2 Node RAC Cluster
Connections via the listener occasionally fail to connect to the DB Node.

Service we are trying to connect to ->

Service "srv" and this has 2 instance -> Instance "inst1", & "inst2"

Fails with ->

ERROR:
ORA-12514: TNS:listener does not currently know of service requested in connect
descriptor

Changes

None.  Relatively new deployment of Exadata machine.
