Goal
Prior to the SAM-QFS 4 Update 6 (4.6) release, if the stager daemon exited prematurely or was killed, all pending stage requests were lost. The stager did not have the ability to pick up where it left off.
Starting in 4.6, however, when the sam-stagerd daemon starts, it looks for any outstanding work by examining the contents of the /var/opt/SUNWsamfs/stager/streams directory.
At certain times it may become necessary to restart sam-stager cleanly to allow some of it's work to complete.
