Rbytes64 and obytes64 kstat counters may be incorrect for certain types of ixgbe cards.

When high volumes of traffic are passing through the ixgbe interface, kstat rbytes64 and obytes64 may report values much lower then real amount of network traffic if they're being read infrequently.


The mentioned kstat counters can be retrieved with the following commands:

# kstat -p ixgbe:0:mac:rbytes64
ixgbe:0:mac:rbytes64    20904
# kstat -p ixgbe:0:mac:obytes64
ixgbe:0:mac:obytes64    24626
