Job Execution Time Has Greatly Increased Since Removing a VLE (Doc ID 1313758.1)

Sun StorageTek Virtual Tape Control Software (VTCS) - Version 6.2 and later
Sun StorageTek Storage Management Component (SMC) - Version 6.2 and later
IBM z/OS on System z

Symptoms

Jobs are running longer after a VLE was removed.
Each job step is spending 30 seconds in allocation.
Run time for DB2 jobs jumped from 2 minutes more than 30 minutes.
Initial review by IBM is indicating an SMC module has issued a WAIT.

This problem does not occur for SMS managed datasets.

Changes

A defined VLE has been removed or the physical connections have been severed.
