Windows Applications do not Exit Properly when Remote Sessions are Closed with Secure Global Desktop
(Doc ID 1320355.1)
Last updated on JULY 05, 2022
Applies to:
Oracle Secure Global Desktop - Version 4.41 to 5.5 [Release 4.0 to 5.0]Information in this document applies to any platform.
Symptoms
Users of Secure Global Desktop (SGD) may report that their hosted Windows application sessions are not exiting as expected when the emulation window is closed on the local client. (This close may be requested either by window decoration [x], or using the equivalent of a File -> Exit command within the application itself).
This behavior may lead to any of the following observations:
- The Windows application session continues to appear as running in the user's SGD webtop, and/or
- Subsequent launch attempts of the Windows application session may attempt to resume the previous session, and/or
- SGD Administrators may observe growing resource usage on the hosting Windows Terminal Services, as remote sessions are not properly torn down.
