Symptoms


Customer reports z/OS host SYSLOG SIM messages with FSC32C0 embedded in the message.  This is an Escon channel error code.

Example:
SLS6659I VTSS VTSS1 SIM:5090100000008FE0329080009E001A104200105C000032C00510420110068012

SLS6974I FAULT REPORTED BY VTSS:VTSS1 MODEL:VSMx SERIAL:xxxxxxxx FSC:32C0 FRU:xxx

Note:  SIM Sense Bytes 22 & 23 are 32C0.

Fault symptom codes other than 32C0 may occur with messages SLS6659I and SLS6974I and are beyond the scope of this article.
