Why Is Libumem's "buf total" Higher Than "buf in use" In ::umastat Output? (Doc ID 1325018.1)

For the gcore of an application using libumem, ::umastat in mdb shows higher values in the "buf total" column than in the "buf in use" column. 


The described behavior applies only to libumem, but not to the default libc memory allocator.
