How to disable the keyboard power key with gnome (Doc ID 1332273.1)

Goal

When running solaris9, we would use /usr/openwin/lib/speckeysd.map to disable the "moon" key on our keyboards.
I would like to disable the key completely.
How can I configure the system to disable this key?
