Inability to attach Disk(s) to Virtual Machine in Oracle VM VirtualBox (Doc ID 1332584.1)

While trying to attach Disks to Virtual Machine hosted on Oracle VirtualBox, it fails with the the following error:

VBoxManage: error: Could not find a storage controller named 'IDE Controller'

VBoxManage: error: Details: code VBOX_E_OBJECT_NOT_FOUND (0x80bb0001), component SessionMachine, interface IMachine, callee nsISupports

Context: "AttachDevice(bstrController.raw(), u1, u2, DeviceType_HardDisk, hardDisk)" at line 694 of file VBoxManageModifyVM.cpp

Attaching of disk to virtual machine vbox1 failed

Disk for virtual machine vbox1 has to be attached to the virtual machine manually
