In case of a simple replace of the current disk archive by a new disk archive (ex. another LUN , filesystem or nfs share), it suffices to :
- Stop archiving,
- Mount the new lun/file system on a temporary mount point,
- Move all files from the old disk archive to the new one,
- Unmount both old- and new disk archives
- Remount the new one on the old mount point.
However sometimes the need arises to perform this migration in a more controlled way (i.e. in phases controlled by the system administrator) and/or only partially migrate an existing disk archive.
That's what the remainder of this document describes.
